LOWCOUNTRY (WCSC) - Prepare yourself for the possibility of record-breaking heat Friday afternoon, says Live 5 Meteorologist Chad Watson.
The heat starts building this morning and by later today the Lowcountry will begin to get a taste of the record heat that has baked most of the deep south this past week. Morning temps in the 80s will quickly head up into the mid 90s by lunchtime and past the century mark by mid-afternoon. Highs for most of us make it to 100-103° with a feel like temperature of 105-110°. Heat advisory is in effect until 6pm this evening.
Even hotter weather is on the way for Saturday as highs make it to 100-105° and head index reading could pass from 115-120°!!
