Coroner's office identifies teen killed in Dorchester Co. crash | News
DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC)- The coroner has identified a 19-year-old woman from Round O who died after a single-vehicle crash in Dorchester County.
Dorchester County Coroner Chris Nisbet said Alesa "Allie" Murdaugh died from a traumatic brain injury after the wreck Wednesday around 5:30 p.m. on Stokes Bridge Road.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says Murdaugh was driving south when she ran off the road, over-corrected, lost control, and flipped several times.
Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. Murdaugh was flown to MUSC, where she died from her injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
