Report: Man carrying pistol threatened hospital staff | News
WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC)- A Walterboro man was arrested Wednesday morning at Colleton County Hospital after officers say he threatened staff and was carrying a concealed pistol.
Eugene Jimmy Ahl, 60, has been charged with disturbing the peace and unlawful carrying of a pistol.
According to an incident report, Walterboro Public Safety officers were called to Colleton County Hospital around 6:50 a.m. Wednesday morning. Hospital staff says Ahl, who came to the hospital with a loved one, became angry after staff would not allow him past the lobby.
Officers say Ahl began using profanity, threatened two members of the staff, and wouldn't listen to security.
When asked if he was carrying any weapons, officers say Ahl pulled a pistol out of his front left pocket and said he had a concealed weapons permit. Although he had a permit, concealed weapons are not allowed in hospitals.
Ahl was arrested and transported to the Colleton County Jail.
